Weather.....Sunny and Clear, 44 Degrees C.

The owners have just returned from 10 days holiday. The weather was glorious for the 10 days we were their with temperatures in the mid to high 40s every day.  We did have a couple of days of unsettled weather with a bit of warm rain and thunder and lightening over the mountains.

The villa is now fully booked for the whole of the school summer holidays which is great news.

During our holiday we visited the Waterpark in Calis and had a great day, we also did a jeep safari for a day which is great fun and gives a whole new meaning to getting wet!! (Try it, you will soon understand what we mean!!).

We also did the "Sunset Cruise" trip which is a brand new excursion for 2006.  This trip is for groups of 8 or more and gives you a large boat and a superb dinner served to you buffet style in a sheltered bay whilst the sun goes down.  See our "In Resort" team to arrange this trip for you.

We hired a Fiat Doblo car for 3 days and it was very spacious for the 5 of us with a huge boot and a very economical engine.  If you want car hire this can be arranged before you leave and will be delivered to the door.

For people who have traveled to Fethiye/Calis before and done the drive through the mountains the new tunnel through the mountains is almost complete with just the new roads to finish.  We expect the new tunnel to be open before the end of the year.

Dalamans new airport terminal opened the day before we left. The new terminal is huge and security is very high but well organized and thankfully seems to be much quicker than the old terminal.  The new terminal has a long way to go before it will be finished and given that it only opened the day before we left seemed to be working ok.  There is a much bigger duty free area (but unfortunately the prices are now fixed so the days of haggling over the prices of cigarettes are over!!), and a much bigger choice of food although the prices are very high compared to the prices charged outside the airport.  Next year should be much better with the tunnel and the airport fully open and any wrinkles ironed out.  For people traveling this year you will arrive and leave via the new terminal as the old one is now closed.
